#Reminder July 05, 2009 Speaking of politicians who have used their position to create an advantage for themselves. This is a reminder of how Mr Robb Andrews used of his position to score one of the 6 week (study tour) holidays to the USA, paid for by the tax payer for the sum of $150,000. Mind you Andrews was in the opposition at the time. Apparently he was one of 28 politicians to benefit. The report he authored is short on detail. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mr Robb, the Opposition spokesman on infrastructure, undertook a six-week trip to the US, but his report consisted of just 150 words in two paragraphs, including: I gained an insight into the emission trading scheme being considered across North America. The cost has not been revealed. Backbench Liberal Pat Farmer went on a four-week tour of Nepal, Peru, India, Jordan and Egypt. Liberal MP Sharman Stone discovered the circus during a 20-day trip through Chile, Argentina, Canada, the UK, Germany and Hong Kong, costing $15,697. Labor MP Dick Adams, who visited Norfolk Island for a week at a cost of $3397 Liberal Senator Gary Humphries took a $24,822 10-day study tour examining mental health facilities in Canada.
