Repentance does not mean you cease from your sins. It means you come to God in your sins believing the blood of Christ Jesus shall cleanse you from all sins. Repentance is a complete transformation of our attitude toward God and sin whereby we see sin for what it is and God for who He is. Thus, when we repent it is by the conviction of the Spirit as regards the sins we are in through the knowledge of the law. It is not us who can cleanse or save ourselves; and, thus, repentance toward God alone is not what saves us, but it is what leads us to turn from sin unto God that we might acknowledge and receive His Saviour.
