Reported Manchester United target Enzo Perez had admitted he could be on the move this summer, but it may not be to Old Trafford. In quotes published by Portuguese newspaper O Jogo, the player with a €30million release-clause said, “There is the possibility to play in Valencia after the World Cup.” Both the Spanish club and United have been heavily linked with the Argentine in recent weeks, but now the player has openly admitted he could be on the move. While Valencia may be in the box-seat, the Daily Star claims United are now set to begin negotiations with his current club Benfica after Perez was included in Argentina’s World Cup squad, thus making a work permit application considerably easier. In other news, Turkish sports journalist Acun Ilicali has told Aksam that United pulled out of the race to sign Atletico Madrid’s Arda Turan last summer, instead opting to spend £27.5million on Marouane Fellaini. If true, it is another indictment of David Moyes’ ill-fated rein at the club.
