Repost from Christopher Holton - "Recently Ted Cruz gave an excellent speech on national security focusing on the Iranian threat. Of the new, fresh generation of Republicans he has by far the best grasp of national security issues. He appears to be a Jacksonian foreign policy man as opposed to a neoconservative like McCain or an Isolationist like Ron Paul. I hope he sets his sights high. The Republican Party needs a new leader desperately--a leader who can unite the social, fiscal, economic, religious and national security communities in the conservative movement the way Reagan did."
