Reposting from Barb Doran: When a panel of judges questions the validity of the NCAA consent decree, and the lone dissenter questions whether the trustees may have failed in their fiduciary responsibilities by accepting a fine that was not used for matters related to its charitable purpose – in this case, the students of PSU, you have an extraordinary opportunity to rethink past actions and to correct them, especially when the judges have invited you to do so by making you a party to the action!!(pacourts.us/assets/opinions/Commonwealth/out/1MD13_4-9-14.pdf?cb=1) This is what we, your elected alumni trustees, tried to do today. The conversation has finally begun in earnest. Today was not the end, no matter the vote outcome, but marked the emergence of a new leadership whose time will come. (Here is the audio link if you missed the meeting: https://youtube/watch?v=EFCbo_feiJg) Thank you to every single one of you who came this morning, some flying in from across the US, to the 700-800 who listened in, live, and to the many who sent emails of support, both before and after, to all of us. You should be proud that your hard work in supporting and electing the candidates who campaigned on this page the last few years has made a real difference. We would not have Al Lord, Alice Pope, or Bob Jubelirer, our most recently elected trustees, without you, and they are already having a powerful impact. We are...! Barb
