Reps to probe alleged plan to hack INEC database on January 13, 2015 / in News 7:28 pm / Comments By Emman Ovuakporie ABUJA – APPARENTLY disturbed by the allegation made by the Department of State Services, DSS, that the All Progressives Congress, APC, planned to hack into the database of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, the House of Representatives, Tuesday, set up a committee to investigate the matter. The committee is expected to carry out the probe and submit its report in two weeks. This was however sequel to a motion brought to the floor of the House under matters of national importance by the deputy majority leader, Rep Leo Ogor, PDP, Isoko Federal constituency, entitled:’The unauthorized and alleged hacking into the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC database”. Photo: Gbemiga Olamikan Ogor in his submission had argued that” the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC is vested by the Nigerian Constitution with the responsibilities to carry out the functions of conducting elections into elective positions in the country”.
