Republicans have taken the propaganda techniques of the fascists and nazis: wrap yourself in the flag, carry the bible, demonize and dehumanized a scapegoat, play on a sense of victimization in your audience; and unleashed them on the American people through Fox and CNN, countless think tanks, talk radio hosts and internet blogs. The Democratic Party is far from perfect. But many democrats are engaged in an earnest attempt to make things better for the average citizen. Progress is often painfully slow. Because the GOP is singularly focused on helping the wealthy and well connected to the exclusion of everything else, they have a lot of money and free time left over for packaging themselves as the saviors of downtrodden whites, who are being punished by the GOPs own policies.
