Research Update Monday. The objective of research conducted at the Swedish University of Agricultural Science was to investigate whether the initial presence of a familiar companion horse modified responses to separation from a group, lowered stress levels and increased training efficiency. Researchers found that there were no significant differences between singly trained mares and mares trained in pairs.
