Researchers aren’t sure why, but in the 23 states where medical marijuana has been legalized, deaths from opioid overdoses have decreased by almost 25 percent Im gonna take a shot in the dark here. Maybe its because its a much better option for opiate abusers? Maybe because its a natural pain remedy that doesnt have the addictive and deadly side effects? Maybe its because there is or at least SHOULD be less prescriptions being written for opiates in Medical states? Ive talked about it for a long time now, prob not first time on here, but it would be great if hospitals could actually provide different options for patients who have been admitted for trauma cases and have had past problems with opiates. Im sure some recovering addicts would be ok with having a note on their medical records or even their ID stating they do not wish to have Opiates administered if they are in a hospital. Im sure we could have pure THC and CBD drips instead of morphine. Keeping those people from jumping right back into a deadly addiction when they might not even have a choice. Get familiar.
