Researchers from Osaka General Medical Center report finding of a two times greater risk of end stage renal disease among diabetics with decreased levels of magnesium compared to those with higher levels. The study included 144 men and women with type 2 diabetic nephropathy and 311 with nondiabetic chronic kidney disease who were hospitalized between April, 2001 and December. The Low-Mg group had a 2.12-fold higher risk of ESRD than the High-Mg group. care.diabetesjournals.org/content/35/7/1591.abstract?sid=15e7a108-1a06-4d2b-82f1-3d93fa4d1500
