Reserves had there final pre season game today against Outwell. The game was always going to be a firey affair as two players have signed for the bridge this year. The reserves came out firing from the off. Matthew Wood clipping a right footed volley into the far corner to beat a disparing keeper started the goal fest. Liam Jarman starting his first game for the bridge then made a darting run and cooly finished to make it 2-0. Matthew Wood then added his second to put bridge 3 nil up. Then some confusion incurred as an Outwell player was injured the bridge called for the ball to be put out, Outwell responded and carried on to score leaving Joshua Justin Stockdale fuming. With half time looming bridge battled hard and there efforts didnt go unrewarded, Aron John and Reece Robinson adding to the healthy score line. At half time bridge lead 5-1. As the second half kicked off only one change was made Jamie Griffin came in for the impressive Jim Gilbert. The second half kicked off and Outwell looked a different team, battling for every ball and were rewarded with a goal for their efforts. This reawoken the bridge and caused them to go on the offensive again, this time jim Gilbert (on for the impressive work horse Nick Lee) cooly slotted home from 8 yards. Outwell managed to pull a goal back with a cool chip over josh Stockdale. 10 minutes left to go and another flowing attacking move see Liam Jarman convert his second of the afternoon to round off a 7-3 victory for the reserves. All in all a good day for the team and some beautiful football played. Lets keep it going into the start the season next week.
