Residents near Sherman School will have stricter parking enforcement starting this Sunday. At a special city council meeting Thursday morning, the council unanimously approved the placement of the restrictions which will be in effect during key drop off and pick up hours at Sherman. The council discussed making the ordinance effective immediately, however Police Chief Kurt Pastirik supported leaving it to the 10-day period so that residents can be notified and signs could be posted about the restrictions. Residents who remain parking in the restricted spots after the ordinance takes effect are subject to a fine.
