Residents of New Xade have been advised to consider a peaceful demonstration, to protest the selling of diamonds mined at Gope in the Central #Kgalagadi Game Reserve. UDC Parliamentary Candidate for Gantsi North, Noah Salakae, made this call recently, saying the government has previously denied that the relocation of people from the CKGR to New Xade was to make way for the Gope diamond mine. Recent publications say Gem Diamond company, will start to sell diamonds from the CKGR by the end of July. Salakae said it is sad to see residents not being given jobs as some do not require the highest qualifications. He added that by having a peaceful demonstration, the whole world will know that diamonds are mined at Gope, though the government has denied that this was the reason for the relocations. Salakae also welcomed 55 people from the BDP into the UDC.
