Residents offered impassioned pleas in support of several of the districts nontenured staff, who are not being offered contracts for the 2014-15 school year. The contracts of seven non-tenured staff members, including one part-time employee, were not renewed. In addition, two staff members, both non-tenured, resigned. Of the non-renewals, three were in their third year, three were in their second year and one in their first year. The board did approve the rehiring of seven first-year staff members and four second-year staff members. It also renewed and granted tenure status as of the next school year to six third-year staff members.
