Resonates today as it did then, perhaps even more. He was our backbone, our spine, our courage, and our common sense. A warrior angel in disguise. Wish I could have just shook his hand. He did not teach anything more than what other groups believe and do. The right to defend yourself, your children, your community from tyranny. The power of unity. The courage to stand up and be counted. His true Islamic spiritual awakening was leading him toward the path of Martin, oh how powerful that tag team would have been, but it was not to be. But he left us with words and nuggets of truth and wisdom that we can gleam from for our continued struggles, even now, and for generations to come.
