Respected members of VOI: Assalamu Alaikum (Peace be upon you) After much consultation and reflection on the violation and misuse of the Voice of Islam forum by some members, the admin team has unanimously agreed on setting up some new guidelines to prevent the misuse and violation of the forum. We expect every member to read these new guidelines and abide by them with an immediate effect. This is an effort to maintain the decency and credibility of VOI, and to ensure that it serves the purpose for which it was formed. Any member who doesnt comply with this guideline and with the general rules and regulation of voice of Islam will be suspended or banned permanently from the group. Below are the new guidelines: #1: NO POSTING OF MATERIALS THAT ARE NOT REFLECTIVE OF THE TRUE SPIRIT OF ISLAM EXAMPLES: • VIDEO LINKS THAT GIVES THE WRONG IMPRESSION OF ISLAM • AN INDIVIDUAL KILLING ANOTHER HUMAN BEING WHILE RECITING A SURAH, QUOTE, OR ANYTHING ISLAMIC OR RELATING THEIR ACTION TO THE HOLY QURAN • PHOTOS THAT SHOWS DEFORMITY OF ANOTHER HUMAN • GRAPHIC PHOTOS OF WAR VICTIMS, DISEASED PERSONS ETC. • PHOTOS OR QUESTIONS THAT STATE THE FOLLOWING: IF YOU LOVE ALLAH, TYPE YES/SAY AMEEN IF YOU LOVE PROPHET MOHAMMAD {PBUH} TYPE YES/SAY AMEEN #2: NO POSTING OF PERSONAL MATERIALS (PERSONAL OR FAMILY PHOTOS, ARTICLES ETC.) EXAMPLES: • AN INDIVIDUAL SHARING THE OBITUARY OF A FAMILY MEMBER ASKING FOR DUA (HOWEVER, MEMBERS CAN ASK FOR DUA FOR A DECEASED FAMILY MEMBER WITHOUT SHARING THEIR PHOTOS) •A MEMBER SOLICITING OR ADVERTISING HIS /HER BUSINESS #3: NO PROFILE PICTURES /NAMES THAT ARE OFFENSIVE OR DEPICT IMMORALITY • CURRENT MEMBERS WITH PROFILE PICTURES/NAMES THAT DEPICT PROMISCUITY/ NUDITY OR ARE OFFENSIVE IN NATURE ARE URGED TO CHANGE THEIR PROFILE NAME/PICTURE IF THEY ARE DEEMED TO BE NOT IN COMPLIANCE WITH THE VOI RULES AND GUIDELINES . A PRIOR WARNING WILL BE SENT TO THE MEMBER BY AN ADMIN RAISING THE CONCERN ABOUT HIS/ HER PROFILE NAME /PICTURE AND IF NO ACTION IS TAKEN, THE MEMBER WILL BE DELETED FROM THE FORUM • NEW MEMBERS WHO WISH TO BECOME PART OF THE VOI FAMILY MUST HAVE A DECENT PROFILE PICTURE/NAME IN ORDER FOR HIS/ HER REQUEST TO BE APPROVED BY AN ADMIN. A REQUEST TO JOIN THE GROUP BY ANY ONE WHOSE PROFILE PICTURE /NAME DEPICT IMMORALITY, NUDITY OR OFFENSIVE IN SOME WAY WILL BE DECLINED. We expect everyone’s full compliance with these guidelines so as to maintain the true spirit of Islam and be a source of benefit and guidance to others.
