Response to the post, Congratulating an atheist by Dr Zakir Naik: It all boils down to interpretation of the verses in the Quran. As we all know, each and every verse can be interpreted in thousands of different ways. Upon examining archeological evidence, it is pretty clear that prior to the 15th century the Quran was interpreted as meaning that the Earth is flat, but now the same Quranic verse is interpreted to mean the Earth is round. Similiarly, upon the advance of scientific knowledge, the interpretation of various Quranic verses have undergone violent twists. Also Dr Zakir Naik does not take into consideration incorrect guesses and inherrwnt contradictions within the Quran. You only need to google out contradictions within the Quran and there will be dozens of examples. You dont need dozens, you only need one to prove that a certain book wasnt written by a creator. The interpretations of various holy books including the Quran have been manipulated over time to satisfy scientific advancements. But some are still stuck in the old age. For eg: Most Islamic scholars refute the theory of evolution eventhough there is overwhelming evidence justifying evolution. Abdul al Aziz, supreme expert of Islam in Saudi Arabia, aka the walking Quran has actually said that those who say earth to be round is an atheist deserving of punishment. There, straight from the horses mouth. There are numerous other contradictions and manipulations and above all silly supernatural stories that completely justifies discarding Islam as yet another delusive ideology like all other religions. Hence, i am still an atheist.
