Restoration of Minor Works Grant is great news for primary schools in Dublin Fingal. Fine Gael TD for Dublin Fingal, Alan Farrell has said that the restoration of the Minor Works Grant to primary schools is great news for local communities throughout Dublin Fingal. “I am delighted that the Minor Works Grant for all primary schools with permanent recognition has been restored by the Minister for Education. Funds of €28 million have been allocated by the Department of Education for the provision of this grant. “The Minor Works Grant will be issued at a rate of €5,500 per school with an additional €18.50 per mainstream pupil and €74 per special needs pupil. The restoration of this grant will be welcome news for local communities in Dublin Fingal as it means that our primary schools will be able to carry out the necessary minor works without having to deal directly with the Department of Education beforehand. “This grant will provide the funding to schools for the upkeep of the physical infrastructure of schools, investment in equipment and furniture, the improvement or replacement of mechanical and electrical services, and the purchase of IT related equipment. “With the youngest population in the State, the restoration of the Minor Works Grant is great news for local communities in the North County. In order to provide our children with the best education possible, it is essential that we ensure the school environment is one which is conducive to their learning. I believe that the Minor Works Grant will go a long way to doing this and I will continue to push for further supports for both primary and secondary level schools in Dublin Fingal.” alanfarrell.ie/restoration-of-minor-works-grant-is-great-news-for-primary-schools-in-dublin-fingal/
