Results 25/1/15 After the hurly burley of the annual tournament the Blue Lake Archers returned to the Corriedale Park range for what they expected to be a quieter day on the field but instead found themselves with a good turnout of six on the main range plus managing nine others on the practice range. Ben Kilsby rotated into the coaches role this week and found he had to deploy another target butt and most of the practice bows to satisfy the level of interest in the sport. On the main range the field was bolstered by Joseph McGrath who was now eligible for his first inclusion in the handicap scoring results and Len Bayley who is still working toward his handicap rating. A Melbourne 90 arrow event was selected as suitable in the windy and occasionally damp conditions by the assembled troupe of competitors. Brendan Donovan bolted from the blocks picking up the first all gold end of the day, Donovan was shadowed by McGrath all afternoon and was close to being pipped at the post by McGrath at the end of proceedings. A slim four points separated the two front runners, Donovan posting a new Personal Best to keep McGrath waiting for his turn at the top of the adjusted scores. Outdoor archery continues at Corriedale Park at 12.30pm next Sunday. Melbourne outdoor round, handicap scored, benchmark 900 points. Brendan Donovan 904 (off the bow 775 PB) Joseph Mc Grath 900 (668) Ian Perry 881 (790) Graham Lock 873 (823) Garry Jacques 850 (743) Len Bayley 602 (off the bow only)
