"Return Unto The LORD - He Hath Torn, He Will Heal" In so many prophecies, God used metaphor and simile. Comparing Israel to a broken vessel, God promised to make them over, as a meticulous potter would. Comparing Israel to a valley of dry bones, God promised to raise them and make them live again. Like a smoking flax, God will not quench, but fan it into flames. And like a bruised reed, God will not break it, but mend it. Hosea 6:1 - "Come, and let us return unto the LORD: for he hath torn, and he will heal us; he hath smitten, and he will bind us up."
