Return of the Bear This young bear, which we believe is the same bear as yesterday wandered into downtown Wisconsin Rapids this morning. Officers from your Wisconsin Rapids Police Department and our local DNR Warden were able to keep tabs on him. The bear entered into a fenced in backyard and climbed a tree and checked out the view of the neighborhood. Officers and the DNR Warden stayed with the bear to help keep him contained. A call to the USDA Wildlife Services was made so as to move this bear out of our downtown safely. Once they arrived, and after using a tranquilizer dart, they were able to move this bear safely out of the neighborhood. Thanks to everyone who helped including our own WRPD Officers and our local DNR Warden who kept the bear contained and distracted. Have a great evening everyone.
