Rev. Dr. William J. Barber, II was on Bill Maher last night.... The NAACP started a movement in North Carolina called Moral Mondays ..... sounds like a great idea for Tennessee as well A wonderful collection of people from all faiths, backgrounds, ethnicity, gender, socioeconomic status, joined together in mutual hope and admiration for essential fairness and compassion among society as a whole. We are not communists, or people hell-bent on the ruination of capitalism, but WE ARE against backdoor legislation, undue lobbying influence, gerrymandering and imbalanced voter redistricting. Additionally, any legislation that attempts to dissuade people of lower economic means, as well as younger voters also will not be tolerated. Unlike the General Assembly, the success or failure of this movement will be determined not by the nameplate on our office, but the willingness to have our collective voices heard.
