Revamp for WW1 Honours Roll at Long Eaton Town Hall. The World War One Roll of Honour for Erewash looks set to be restored and updated with the names of servicemen that are missing from the list. The Roll of Honour is on display in the council chamber at Long Eaton Town Hall and is regularly viewed by visitors from across the country and around the world. The scroll is a copy made in the late 1990s, but it has deteriorated over the years and is now very creased and difficult to read. The original is stored at Erewash Museum as a conservation measure and is too fragile to be on display. Councillors have agreed that £3,250 will be set aside for a new scroll to be produced and displayed in a new conservation frame with back mount and window mount using acid free materials to prevent future damage. They also confirmed the go-ahead for a local historian to work with the council to add the names of servicemen missing from the list when the new Roll of Honour is produced.
