Review: THE GRAND BUDAPEST HOTEL. It is indeed GRAND... an unconventional comedy-drama by Wes Anderson (was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay for The Royal Tenenbaums in 2001 and Moonrise Kingdom in 2012, and for the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature for Fantastic Mr. Fox in 2009. His other movies: Darjeeling Limited... Rushmore...) A quirky comedy-crime-drama with great talents...(reminds me of FARGO) Ralph Fiennes Jude Law Tilda Swinton.. Willem Dafoe Edward Norton ... but they come go quickly... Tilda is unrecognisable... u blink and you miss her... all of them have a very short appearance... but memorable. Loved the European style music. Reminds me of CHOCOLAT ( the film...okey). Lots and lots of pastel colours in this movie especially pink... something need to be further analysed. Visually beautiful... beautiful cinematography and art direction. GUSTAVE and ZERO remains in my heart. Peter Howell of the Toronto Star gave the film four out of four stars, saying The entire movie is like a giant, elaborately decorated cake, created by this most exacting of film craftsmen. And how tasty it is! Definitely one of the Oscar contenders for 2015... It is indeed tasty...( My rating 4*)
