Revival is a people saturated with God. Tonight, at World Outreach in Murfreesboro, Angus Buchan had much to say. He usually does :-) One thing that really caught my attention was when he spoke of how God uses ordinary people to do extraordinary things. Ordinary people like me. Like you. Like him. He spoke of how the Lord had used a semi-literate farmer to touch lives and share the message of Christ. He had to walk through fear, put aside pride, and trust the Lord. He had to be obedient even when it brought suffering, but he said the Lord has taken him places he never imagined hed go. How does an ordinary farmer from South Africa end up preaching the gospel to a field full of people in Tennessee, at an event so large it requires a few policemen to direct traffic? By loving God first and giving everything to Him. Not everyone is called to do work in such a world-spanning, visible way, and not everyone would want to pay the price of less privacy and time with family, but we all have important work to do. We can all shine light within our sphere of influence. As a wise sister pointed out to me, you never know who might be quietly watching you and being encouraged. Their success might hinge on your perseverance. Its time to step forward in faith. Our weaknesses arent hindrances. Theyre windows through which the glory of God can shine.
