Rhetoric hard to swallow The pending civic election will again bring forth all the usual political rhetoric, which we, the voters, are asked to believe. What I’d like to know from every one of them is why should we believe any of what they say? Plus each one of them should clarify why they really want to become the mayor or councillor, and also give us credit for knowing what is nonsense or a genuine response. Is their motivation primarily self-interest or selfless civic duty? I’d like to see more of the latter attribute in every candidate. Victoria Stirling London Councillor missing in action Great news, there is an election soon. This way, with all the signs around, I get to see who our Ward 10 councillor is. I have not seen or heard from or about him in several years now. Perhaps it is time for that change we keep hearing about. Having already met one of the other candidates, and being quite impressed, I think I am going to do my part to even the playing field around the council table. Anyone want to join the movement?
