Joe McDonough is looking at the crowd celebrating UDances fundraising total and Chris McDonough is looking at the Executive Board celebrating on stage. Its a happy picture, but theres pain. The Andrew McDonough B+ Foundation isnt easy. They both work tirelessly, at all hours of the day, to honor Andrews memory and help us get closer to a world without childhood cancer. But nothing they do will bring Andrew back. They do it because it may save someone elses son or brother. One of the saddest moments of UDance, for me, was when the seniors on the Executive Board were called on stage. Andrews friends were there. His peers. He shouldve been there. He should be a senior in college right now. Im so grateful that theyve stuck together through the loss of a child and another cancer diagnosis. I dont know what Id do without them. Our hurting hearts help each other.
