Richard Sky After watching a recent Youtube-circulated video clip of Multi TV’s Majority Caucus, I have become so convinced that disgraced former DFP Youth Organizer, Prince Derrick Agyei, is a chronically childish and thickheaded illiterate, who has tragically been assigned the role of ‘managing’ the Youth of the Republic of Ghana. To have circulated a baseless and thoughtless allegation that I actually gave the tape of the interview I had with NDC’s General Mosquito to Nana Addo’s team of lawyers “to enhance” my “CV”, and to also allege without any proof that I was part of the NPP’s Communication Team in past elections are the most laughable, pedestrian, and pathetically unintelligent. For days, I have chosen to remain silent over the threats, attacks and outright nonsense that some fanatics of the ruling party have said since that tape was played in the Supreme Court. However, I feel compelled by the sheer volume of messages of sympathy and messages seeking comments from me on the issue to state here and now that; 1. It is public knowledge that my first job as a journalist was with The Statesman Newspaper then Edited by Asare Ochere-Darko; 2. I left The Statesman voluntarily to join Citi FM on merit; NOT because any so-called “bigman” in any political party planted me at Citi FM to do anyone’s bidding; 3. I work with a fair-minded and hard-working team of workers at Citi FM; 4. I have never ever been a member of any political party 5. I am a professional journalist who has never been a member of the Communication team of any political party; 6. I DID NOT force the words Johnson Asiedu Nketia used in that famous interview on tape out of him [He came to our studio out of free will and I simply asked him questions to which he provided answers he felt were right; 7. The interview in question has been a public record since the evening of the interview and has been on Citifm’s you tube channel since the 20th of December 2012; 8. I did not hand over the audio tape in question to the petitioner’s legal team. 9. I am a humble media practitioner dedicated to serving Ghanaian s, Africa, the world and nothing more. 10. And that the vicious lies, the vile threats, and the senseless attacks and propaganda being directed at me over the tape should end forthwith.
