Ricky Meakin/Deep Invasion Biography Ricky Meakin is now set to return after taken a hiatus from our beloved music scene, with his previous party night, Lovebug taking the UK market by storm. Back in the day Ricky drafted in some of the finest talent, not just magnetising the heavy hitters but bringing some of the fresh artists that we now see performing at a global level. One of those being Darius Syrossian who has crafted a success out of our industry laying down some of the freshest cuts at Ricky’s parties before breaking it in at the highest level. This just shows Ricky has a fine ear when selecting the best in emerging talent from the electronic music world! Not only that his infamous Lovebug party went onto great heights performing with legendary acts like Yousef, M.Y.N.C Project and Ibiza legend Brandon Block just to name a few. With that said he traveled the shores with the brand performing in Ibiza and launching in Marbella respectfully. With a visit to the beloved Space Terrace and being truly inspired, this lead to pushing the envelope even further after meeting Tony Haze and offering him a residency on the spot, this set the course for Lovebug to celebrate their 4th & 5th birthdays at the global super club brand Gatecrasher with the before mentioned Yousef & Darius Syrossian claiming the headline mantles. The events gained so much hype that Mixmag included the shindig in their guide for one of the top 3 nights in the UK for their monthly feature in May 2011. Other shows were to follow, one being the longest running club night in the world Back to Basics offering the Lovebug team a huge outing at their illustrious showcase stamping the clubs authority as one of the leading brands to come from the midlands. With Ricky’s belief in luck, hard work and a combination of solid bookings all marrying perfectly together its now that we see his new project Deepinvasion arriving with a huge impact this year after a hugely successful launch in 2013 on the white island and a few one of shows in his home town of Derby in the UK. Ricky has supported leading artists at a global level, Pete Tong, Kaiserdisco, Agoria, Maya Jane Coles, Ramon Tapia to mention only a few in his 20+ year journey. That said the record of experience entraining audiences the old school way with his dark, deep, percussion based tribal House, Tech and rare sounds of progressive has been crafted and a unique sound has emerged in his Dj shows. With the ability to mix Balearic house, lounge, chill out and rare downbeat sunset grooves. It is not hard to see why people are already looking very closely at what Ricky is up to. Now studying at the ever present Point Blank his collaboration with Danny Nightingale called “Sinbad” has created some early productive prowess with more releases on the horizon. In January 2014 Ricky was signed to Big Beat Boutique Artist Music Management Agency where he will perform at an international level with appearances coming up in Dubai, Ibiza, Budapest, Thailand, Bali, New York, Los Angeles & London!
