Right... dear hivemind and particularly fellow long eighteenth century buffs... One of the features of the website which accompanies my dissertation is porosity - no visible boundaries. This means that for certain subjects Im going to link out to fantastic relevant content on other sites. (Just to be clear, Im not swiping their content - just sending people directly to external sites for some subjects. The premise being that no museum can be a subject matter expert upon EVERY subject.) So, if you have outstanding favourite sites touching upon of the following subjects, Id appreciate your suggestions: * The East India Company * Kashmir shawls * Georgian architecture and/or domestic interiors * The Grand Tour * Eighteenth Century drawing and watercolour technique (looking squarely at you here, Batly Royston) * The Georgian pianoforte (Thatd be you, Mike Parker) * Harps... ditto * Regency dance * Philosophy and the Age of Enlightenment * Silk and cotton mills in the North of England * The British Navy and the end of the slave trade * Anglicanism and non-conformism. * Crime and punishment in Georgian England. I have more... but thats more than enough to be getting on with, I think.
