Right now, special interests are outspending our campaign by a 2 to 1 margin. Special interest groups have spent more than $8 million on false attacks against me and boosting my opponent Terri Lynn Land’s campaign. More than half of that money has come from groups backed by the billionaire Koch Brothers -- like Americans for Prosperity and Freedom Partners. Terri Lynn Land is also donating more than $3 million of possibly illegal cash to her own campaign. Now it’s our turn to fight back. This month we’ve got a $70,000 goal to hit -- it’s the amount we need to keep our grassroots organization on track. Will you give $5 or more to make sure we reach our goal before July 31st? My dad was a World War II veteran and my mom was a nurses aide. They instilled in me the importance of service, and thats why I have always fought to make Michigan better for middle class families. My opponent’s campaign strategy is to say nothing and hope that Michigan voters will ignore the fact that she’s against equal pay for equal work. She’s hoping they won’t notice she supported a discriminatory new law that allows Michigan companies to deny certain health care coverage to women employees. And that she would have let Michigan’s auto industry fail. But Terri Lynn Land doesn’t have to do any talking when her special interest allies are doing it for her.
