Rising star Sarah Shahi returns to TV this fall in the USA Networks drama FACING KATE. Sarah Shahi stars in the title role as a divorced San Francisco lawyer who becomes a mediator following the death of her dad, who headed the law firm. The series starts in September. She recently completed the independent film EAST FIFTH BLISS starring opposite Lucy Liu and Michael C. Hall. Shahi has recently completed the independent film SHADES OF RAY by director Jaffar Mahmood. The story revolves around American-born Ray who struggles with his multi-cultural identity when finding love. Shahi plays Ray’s love interest. She can also be seen in the Weinstein Company’s CROSSING OVER written and directed by Wayne Kramer. The film is about immigrants of different nationalities struggling to achieve legal status in Los Angeles. Sarah plays a Muslim woman fighting immigration issues at the border. She was seen on Showtime’s critically acclaimed series THE L WORD where she played “Carmen” a bilingual production assistant who spends her evenings as a DJ. The show is centered around a group of young women in Los Angeles, their lives, careers, and romantic relationships - both gay and straight. Hailing from Dallas, Texas, Sarah moved to Los Angeles in 2000. As a member of the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders, she had a chance meeting with Robert Altman (in town shooting DR. T AND THE WOMEN) at the Cowboy Ranch who encouraged her to move to Los Angeles and pursue acting. In 2000 she graced the cover of the infamous Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader Calendar and embarked on a USO tour taking her to entertain the troops in Bosnia, Macedonia, Kosovo and Italy. A new comer to Hollywood she was previously seen in the films OLD SCHOOL, FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION and on the television shows SOPRANOS, DAWSON’S CREEK, FRASIER and ALIAS.
