Ritualists church discovered in Lagos At the Ikorodu area of Lagos State, after she was discovered to have hidden a six-year-old in a travelling bag. She allegedly kidnapped the boy. The incident, which occurred at the Majidun area of Ikorodu, attracted a lot of attention, with an angry mob attempting to set the Pentecostal church, which the woman attends, on fire. The mob, which invaded the church, claimed to have sighted human heads and bones there. Eyewitnesses further claimed that trouble started after the woman, who is a member of the Pentecostal church, was sighted with a travelling bag containing a little boy, later identified as Kelvin Emmanuel. John Alum, a resident, explained that after the boy was closely examined, he turned out to be the child of her neighbour. The discovery sparked off heavy protest and the mob forced the woman to take them to where she was taking the victim to. Another resident said: “We were shocked that the woman who committed the dastardly act was a member of the church. “A man was rescued inside the church. “The man was in chains and he told us that he was abducted and kept in captivity for over a decade. “We also found a pit inside the church. “There were many skulls and human bones were kept.” The resident explained that the woman would have been lynched, but they wanted her to be used as witness by the Police against the Pastor of the church who took to his heels. Bose Oladende claimed the she saw the victim playing around 7:30am and later saw him go into the church with the boy. Oladeinde added: “I became suspicious when the woman came out, holding a bag without the little boy. “Beside, the Church members don’t worship on Wednesdays, but Tuesdays. “I now raised the alarm and we were shocked with what we saw. “I saw the little boy that was playing earlier inside the bag. “I used to see the church as fire brand church not knowing that it is a ritualist den. “I thank God that I have not gone to worship there.” Police spokesperson for the Lagos State Command, Ngozi Braide, confirmed the incident. Braide said: “At about 7.30am, the Divisional Police Officer In charge of Ipakodo received a distress call that a woman was accosted with a bag containing a six-year-old boy and was about being lynched. “The DPO with some of his men raced to the scene and rescued the woman, identified as Rosemary Chukwu. “The woman has confessed that she was sent by the pastor of Jesus Divine Healing and Deliverance Catholic Ministry at number 319, Lagos Road Majidun.” According to Braide, the Police stormed the church and arrested five persons, including Rosemary Chukwu.
