River Raider friends and families, The 3rd Battalion, 60th Infantry Regiment Battalion Commander, LTC Derek Mayfield, and the Battalion Command Sergeant Major, CSM Chad Utz, invite you to participate in an On-line Live Chat on Wednesday the 17th of September at 7:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. Our focus is to prepare you for all that Fort Jackson offers when you arrive for your Soldier’s Family Day Activities or Graduation Ceremonies. This on-Line Chat session is designed for Family members and friends of Soldiers currently assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 60th Infantry Regiment and more importantly for those planning to attend the Family Day Activities and Basic Training Graduation Ceremony in September and October here at Fort Jackson. This chat session will be held at https://connect.dco.dod.mil/chatsession3-60and you will need to download and install the DoD Certificate called InstallRoot_v3.15a onto your computer to be accepted into the chat meeting, which you can find at militarycac/dodcerts.htm . Once you’re there scroll down a little, and you can’t miss the big blue download link titled “InstallRoot_v3.15a”. For more info on installing the certificate needed to log into the chat session please go tojackson.army.mil/sites/bct/docs/728. Under the Downloads fly out menu on the left hand side vertical navigation bar…click “How to install DoD certificates”…(note: you may have to refresh the browser page if it does not load the first time). Attention MAC users!! You should be able to get on without installing the certificate stated above if you have a Mac book OS X (lion) or newer, and it may work with older versions as well. Once you’ve reached the site you’ll be asked to type in a username; for tracking and monitoring purposes we request that you use the following guidelines for choosing a username; Enter the slogan or company designation of your Soldier’s Company, your full name, and the state/country that you’re logging in from. For example: Alpha John Allen Virginia, or Bravo John Allen Virginia, etc. etc. On the night of the Parent Chat Session input your username, hit “Enter” and wait to be accepted into the meeting by our on-Line administrator. If you get a page or prompt which states “Do not go any further”, simply ignore the prompt and continue to hold until your given access. We ask that you please be patient and polite while we work to adapt and overcome any technical issues that might arise while attempting to accomplish this goal. We’re asking that you log-in between 6:30 pm and 7:00 pm Eastern standard time with the on-Line Chat going live at 7:00 pm EST. We look forward to assisting you and meeting you both on-Line and at your Soldier’s Graduation. We’re predicting a large turnout (log in requests) which may cause internet connectivity issues, so again, please be patient, polite, and courteous throughout the entire meeting. Thank you for coming and enjoy the meeting. Please log-in between 6:30 pm and 7:00 pm Eastern standard time with the on-Line Chat going live at 7:00 pm EST. Soldiers in training will not be seen and or have access to this Chat. The Chat is by no means mandatory and most if not all of the information has been provided to you already, so do not worry if you cannot log into the Chat due to prior commitments. River Raiders!!
