Robbie Potts, Mo Fkn Mayhem, Jonathan Barwick, I had hoped to wrangle a ticket to Melbourne for your Cherry gig but it didnt work out. I will obviously never see you guys play together again, so lemme tell ya I genuinely loved your band. Having seen you play about 40 times I can say you were exactly what i love about live rock and roll. My band was lucky enough to share the stage with you for most of those 40 shows, all over this big brown land. I have some truly awful memories, like Johnnos DNA being left on the window in Canberra then Robbie taking photos of the evidence and Oscars junk in my face during breakfast in Brisbane. Driving for about 50ks at 3:00am in the van while all of you hung out the windows throwing stubby bottles at anything you could see and singing Cinderella songs at the top of your lungs also sucked and Ill admit, I hoped one of you would fall out. But mostly, over the years I felt extremely lucky to know you. You inspired me to write better songs and play better live. Ive filled a photo album with pictures we took. I had a good look the other day, some of the best memories of my life, it was exactly what i hoped to do when I moved to the mainland to start a band over a decade ago. Besides Robbie were all pretty clever dudes, we could have chosen to do something which took a squllionth the effort and given us 10x the reward (actual money), but we love our rock and roll. Congrats on being the best band your rubbish city has produced in the last 2 decades. Do a reunion show in Tassie next year, I might make it along, either way you can borrow my amp
