Robin A. Bable asks My daughter has high functioning autism shes 4 years old andLOVES . We own 2 dadogs (1 we want to have trained as her service dog) and 2 cats. My problem is when shes sees animals outside she trys to run to them. Like today we were at my brothers house for my nephews party and they dont have a fenced in yard and one of the neighbors brought their dog out (on a leash thank God) and she took off across the yard and I caught her just before she reached them. She had no fear at all not just with animals but with just about everything and all I can think is how badly it could have ended today. Is there anything I can do to help her understand she cant run up to other animals? I try telling her she cant run up if she wants to see she needs to ask me or her grandparents and we will take her if its safe and she has to ask the owner I told her on a way I was hoping she would understand. Any advice?
