Robin Williams death is a good reminder to us as Christians that we need to be supportive and to pray for those suffering from depression. In a Christian community, we should not ignore, dismiss or demean those who suffer. Many great people have had to deal with this issue. Sir Winston Churchill once called it the black dog that followed him. No one could accuse him of being weak (from his daring escape from a POW camp during the Boer war, to volunteering for the trenches in WWI to leading the nation during WWII). So too we have parishioners and clergy who battle various issues.
