Rohingya News Agency –(Burma Times-By Maung Hla Myint): Maung Daw – According to a reliable source, it is confirmed that administrators of the villages of ku daung (kudukkali), Ywa ma (Barfara), Taung Ran Ywa (murafara), Hteturma and Oo shin kya (Burashidafara) under Maung Daw district are extorting different amount of cash in the mentioned village. A youth from Ku daung village said that the village administrator U kyaw thaung took different amount of cash on the name of approving for marriage from the following villagers yesterday. They are; 1. 1.Noorul Amin s/o Noor Ahmed Ywa ma villager 50,000kyats 2. 2.Musamed s/o Shobbir j Ywa ma villager 50,000kyats 3. 3.Nuzumeah s/o Nurul Islam Kudaung villager 40,000kyats, But the administrator did not provide any legal document to the villagers as permit of marriage. Moreover he threaten to the villagers by the help of the Hlun tin (riot police), and police who remain on duty near the village when the villagers denied to pay the amount. The administrators of other villages are taking fewer amounts like 5000 to 10,000kyats from the villagers but the thing to worry is that they are not providing any legal documents to the villagers. The administrators, Hlun tin and police divide the amount among them after taking form the villagers. Now the villagers are assuming that they are providing any document because they want to extort more money later. Another reporter from Oo Shin Kya village said that the administrator Amir Hakim is also taking big amounts from the villagers on the name of permission of marriage. He took the cash by threatening the with the help of authority from the following villagers. They are 1. Amanullah s/o Shafique 24years Oo shin kya village 30,000kyats 2. Md Hossain 21years same village 30.000kyats 3. Hashim s/o Anumeah 25years Same village 30.000kyat
