Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. ***Isnt that just what the world wants us to do? Conform? Our youth have such pressure to be, do, and act a certain way based on societal norms, but those norms couldnt be farther from the will of God. My pastor, while speaking at the funeral yesterday, brought up such a good point. He said that God chastens those He loves, like a father would his child. If you are not being chastened, maybe you arent one of His... Thats some food for thought.... If you can go about your life, living any way you please, and feel no condemnation for your words and actions, maybe it isnt because youre living within Gods will, but instead, you arent even one of His children. *GULP* I dont know about you, but when I do or say something that I know goes against what God would have me to do, it weighs heavily on me until I make it right. The thought of someone being lead astray because of my actions or speech, breaks my heart. If you never get this feeling, please take these thoughts into consideration... God gave his son for YOU, the whole world, but especially YOU! Salvation is a relationship. Its goes beyond mere believing. Its laying down the person you were before you knew Jesus and giving EVERYTHING over to him. Submitting yourself wholly to him. We are sinful by nature, so this can be hard, we all have besetting sins. But this was one gift that Ive never been sorry to receive. I lose almost everything I touch, (especially my phone & keys! Ask Shannon! Lol!) But praise God, I can NEVER lose my salvation! One of my favorite verses is Romans 8:38-39. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Id say that pretty much covers everything, wouldnt you? I know this was super long, but maybe just one person needed those words tonight. Maybe Im the only one who needed to hear them, who knows.
