Romans. 2:12-29; Making The Case That Mankind, Jew And Gentile Are Guilty Before God. In verses one through eleven Paul proves his case that moral man stands guilty before God and in need of righteousness. In verse eleven Paul claims that God deals equally with all man, Jew and Gentile alike. Beginning in verse twelve Paul begins his transition from moral Gentile mankind to religious Jewish manking. In this section Paul will make his case by comparing Jewish religious people to Gentile Christians. Due to the subtleties in this section this point can be missed. There are two aspects of the wrath of God discussed in the book of Romans (1) The wrath of God that is (presently) being revealed as chastisement and judgment on the misdeeds of manking (2) The wrath of God that will be revealed on the day of judgment. On that day, God will not pull out a copy of the ten commandments and begin to judge. Oh no, Gods standard under grace is much more higher then the law. Grace judges not only deeds, but motives of the heart. No God will judge the misdeeds of mankind by Jesus Christ.... ...in the day when God will judge the secrets of the mens hearts by Jesus Christ, according to my gospel. Romans. 2:16.
