Romeo Fernandes dream to play football, Abroad is all set :D :D The last obstacle is Dempos Head Coach- Arthur Papas :D Brazilian top division club, Atletico PR has sent a letter of intent to Dempo SC wherein they shall offer him a chance to train with the first team and also be given a salary equivalent to what their Under-23 players receive. He would also be assured of some playing time, unlike most of the Indian players who have left the country to ply their trade abroad only to see themselves struggle for game time. Of course, going abroad would help my further development, said Romeo Fernandes The 22-year old mentioned that he is aware of the Atletico PR’s interest in him and a move to the South American club, whose most high profile youth product is Manchester City’s Fernandinho would him in improve his game further. It must also be noted that the likes of Gustavo Marmentini of Delhi Dynamos and Chennaiyin FCs Bruno Pelissari are products of their youth development programme. “I would want to play abroad,” he reiterated. It must be noted that Romeo has a contract with Dempo SC until May, 2016. “Playing for Atletico PR is an opportunity that many Brazilians too struggle to get. Romeo is a fantastic talent and this is his opportunity to take the big step. I spoke to Mr.Shrinivas Dempo, owner of the club who mentioned that the final call on Romeo will be taken by Papas. “Now I am waiting for the coach to come back and proceed to the next step.” P.s->During Last years I-League, under Arthur Papas, Romeo hardly got any playing time. He preferred the likes of Alwyn George, Holicharan Narzary, Miranda instead of Romeo.
