Anderson The FBI’s 2014 Budget is allowing for new hires within the following fields: Intelligence Analysts, Staff, Operations Specialists, Electronics Techs, Forensics Personnel, and Support Staff. Polite, Jr. Attorney Kenneth Polite, Jr. discussed the significance Louisiana’s Critical Infrastructure, particularly the oil & gas industry, and touched on the following: Cyber terrorism, and the fact that you don’t necessarily need a bomb to impact critical infrastructure. Denial of Service (DOS) attacks on Financial Institutions. Cyber Terrorism is fast becoming the number 1 threat. Cyber Crime is presently very active. China & Russia are significant state sponsored cyber threats. Insider threats are very persistent and hard to detect. National Security is a top priority with the Dept. of Justice. InfraGard Louisiana Coordinator’s Remarks / SA Corey Harris There are approximately sixty applications for InfraGard Louisiana being processed. InfraGard Louisiana is still in the process of identifying Sector Chiefs. The FBI is looking towards the possibility of issuing top secret clearances to the sector chiefs. InfraGard Louisiana President’s Rep or t / Lest er Millet III The FBI New Orleans, InfraGard Louisiana, and the University of Louisiana Lafayette (NIMSAT / National Incident Management System & Advance Technologies) will be conducting a one day Physical/ Cyber Threat Briefing. InfraGard Louisiana President’s Report / Lester Millet III (cont’d) Lester recently signed a Non-disclosure agreement with the FBI that has allowed Him to create an InfraGard Louisiana Distribution List to communicate directly with the membership. SA Corey Harris recently attended the Louisiana School Board Association Conference and handed out DVD copies of the InfraGard Louisiana School Safety Initiative Multi Hazard Toolkit. To access the document General Reports FBI New Orleans Cyber Taskforce SA Sundanah Parsons discussed the upcoming Tiger Trap Cyber Security Exercise that will take place on May 7-9, 2014 at Blue Cross Baton Rouge. St. Charles Parish Office of Emergency Preparedness Ron Perry (St. Charles Parish Director of Emergency Preparedness) mentioned an upcoming Railroad derailment Tabletop (TTX) Exercise that is scheduled for March 22, 2014 At the St. Charles parish EOC.
