Ros is still at Addenbrookes, waiting for a bed at NNUH. There are only limited spaces for the specialist care that Ros needs, but as soon as a bed becomes available she will be transferred. We had a good day at the hospital today - Ros is now able to have about 5 teaspoons of squash every 2 hours or so when speech valve is attached so this has helped in her desperate need of a drink. This was started only yesterday but swallowing was a little easier today. The biggest improvement though was that after I Had been massaging Ross right hand for a while, I asked her to try to squeeze my hand, and there was the slightest bit of movement firstly in the thumb and eventually with Ross determination this soon spread to the other fingers as well. It was only minimal movement but its a start! Not wanting to appear too greedy, I then switched my attentions to Ross right foot, and again there was very slight movement in the toes. Even Ross nurse was impressed with this, stating that this really could be the difference between Ros being able to walk at some time in the future or not. So all in all I think weve had a very good day today. More of the same tomorrow please!!!
