Round up by Dave Lumley~MELTON MOWBRAY continued their assault on the Premier table with a 6-2 defeat of DUNTON & BROUGHTON RANGERS after trailing 1-2 at half time. In midweek Melton defeated the days leaders FRIAR LANE & EPWORTH 3-2, but needed a 2nd half power show against Dunto to jump into the top 6 with goals from Dave Hazeldene-3, Adam Bishop, Rob Grant and Gav Williamson. Dunton slipped to their 5th successive defeat despite first half goals from Kyle Newall and Greg Richards. A goal in each half, from Eboney Asante, took DESFORD back to the top of the table with a 2-0 defeat of pointless HIGHFIELD RANGERS whilst SILEBY TOWN, held to a midweek 2-2 draw at KIRBY MUXLOE, returned to their winning format with a 1-0 defeat of FC GNG after Tom Marriott hit the lone first half goal. Marley Henry hit a 1st half brace to give SAFFRON DYNAMO a 2-1 half time lead and despite finishing with an hat trick and Saffron scoring another through Harry Thompson, Saffron went down 4-6 to CATERPILLAR who rekindled their season with goals from Liam Crouchman-3, Shaun Robinson -2 and Joe Brotherhood. BIRSTALL UTD made it 3 wins on the spin with a 1-3 victory at COTTESMORE AMATEURS after James Reay, Ethan Bibby and Jake Simmonds converted a 1-1 halt time draw into victory, Harry Stannard scored for Cottesmore and KIRBY MUXLOE extended their unbeaten home form with a 3-0 defeat of SHEPSHED DYNAMO after Jordan Lever-2 and Ben Law had pushed Kirby into a 3-0 half time lead. ASHBY IVANHOE moved into mid table with a 1-3 victory at EARL SHILTON ALBION after leading 0-3 at half time when Dan Turnock, Phil Gibson and Tom Nolan found the net. Dominic Papadomitriou replied for the Albion who slipped to their 7th successive defeat. In Division 1, HOUGHTON RANGERS held onto top spot with a 2-0 defeat of CK DONS after Shaun Barber netted in each half and BARLESTONE ST GILES moved onto their heels, with a game in hand, after a 2-4 victory at HEATHER ST JOHNS. Ant Cresswell and Joe Humphries scored for Heather in the first half to lead 2-0 at the break but they slipped to their 3rd defeat on the spin as George Hickling-2, Craig Leonard and Damion Irons hit them with a 4 goal second half salvo. ASFORDBY AMATEURS stepped up into the top 3 with a 0-1 victory at HATHERN after Steve Abbott scored the only goal and BLABY AND WHETSTONE ATHLETIC hit LUTTERWOTH ATHLETIC 7-0 after Steve Anastasi and Josh MacCameron both hit hat tricks and Darren Wheeler rounded off the scoring. ANSTEY NOMADS posted their 1st away points with a 0-3 victory at FC KHALSA after Warren York, Oli Creese and Joe Murrey scored to sentence Khalsa to their 4th successive defeat. ANSTEY TOWN edged past RATBY SPORTS with the best of 7, 4-3 after Mark Brown-2, Rich Kirk and Rich Parker scored to secure their unbeaten home record as James Lupton, Jim Smith and Ant Ward replied for the Sports. ELLISTOWN AND IBSTOCK Utd posted their 1st away points of the season with a 0-1 victory at THUNBY RANGERS after Callum Tott netted the lone goal.
