Rs. 82.79 cr Annual Plan approved for Kulgam Mian Altaf asks officers to chase targets, implement Board decisions KULGAM, July 6: The Annual Plan of district Kulgam for 2013-14 has been pegged at Rs. 82.79 crore with Rs 23.22 crore revenue component and Rs 59.57.crore capital component. The plan was approved at District Development Board meeting of the district held here today under the Chairmanship of Minister for Forest, Ecology and Environment, Mian Altaf Ahmad. Minister for Social Welfare, Ms. Sakina Itoo, Deputy Speaker, Legislative Assembly, Sartaj Madni, Legislators, Abdul Gaffar Sofi, M.Y. Tarigami and Abdul Majeed Bhat, District Development Commissioner, Mr. Jahangir Ahmad Mir besides heads of various departments were present on the occasion. The meeting was informed that for current fiscal Rs. 11.76 crore have been earmarked for irrigation and flood control while Rs. 5.48 crore for improving and augmentation of water supply position in the district. Similarly, Rs 44.90 crore have been allocated to social services and Rs. 3.13 crore for generating employment under self-employment schemes, it was added. The meeting was told that Rs. 2.14 crore have been kept for agriculture and allied services, Rs. 4.72 crore for Rural Development, Rs 55.03 lakh for industries and minerals, Rs.11.90 crore for transport, Rs 28.75 lakh for energy and Rs.26.89 lakh for welfare of OBC/SC categories for current fiscal. Mian Altaf asked the officers to chase the targets fixed for current fiscal in view of limited working season and make best use of available resources. He directed them to speed up the pace of the projects so as to ensure their completion with stipulated time frame.. The Chairman asked the officers to ensure implementation of Board decisions in letter and spirit so that the benefit of the approved schemes percolates down to the masses. He instructed the authorities of R&B and allied departments to settle land acquisition and compensation cases impeding the progress of road projects. . Earlier, the District Development Commissioner (DDC) informed that Rs 80.68 crore stand expended in the district out of approved plan of Rs 63.19 for 2012-2013. DDC said that Rs. 3.90 crore have been incurred on execution of Sub District Hospital D.H. Pora so far which included Rs. 60 lakh released during 2012-2013. He said on construction of SDH Yaripora Rs 5.82 crore stand expended so far including Rs. 50 lakh released during 2012-2013 while on construction of SDH Qoimoh, Rs 1.30 crore have been incurred including Rs 10 lakh released during last fiscal, he added. Regarding augmentation of water supply in the district, the DDC informed that Rs 1.94 crore KB Pora water supply scheme (WSS) was approved against which Rs 6 lakh stand released during previous fiscal. He said WSS Chogalpora has been completed while WSS Rangdab is targeted to be commissioned during current financial year. Similarly, Rs 25 lakh have been spent on augmentation of Danev WSS against estimated cost of Rs 2.11 crore during 2012-2013, he maintained. Likewise, improving further power supply position in the district, the DDC said that a project of Rs. 2.83 crore for construction of receiving station at Nagam was approved against which Rs. 25 lakh have been released and utilized up to end of last financial year. He said under RGGVY 252 habitations have been electrified against target of 254 in the district so far. He said 20 KW Solar Plant has been installed at district hospital Kulgam by Science and Technology Department. DDC said that Rs 40 lakh have been released during the period for completion of Bushi Ada bridge, adding that two bridges on Qoimoh-Habdipora road have also been completed during this period. Regarding road communication, the DDC said that 14 roads have been taken over by PMGSY department while macadamization of old bus stand Kulgam has been completed during last financial year. Ms. Sakina Itoo, Sartaj Madni, M. Y. Tarigami, Abdul Gaffar Sofi and Abdul Majeed Bhat also projected the developmental needs of their respective constituencies and demanded implementation of Board decisions besides completion of projects in time bound manner. They demanded early settlement of land acquisition cases in order to take forward the projects taken up in the district. Later, Mina Altaf Inaugurated Range Office Building at Kulgam completed at a cost of Rs. 15 lakh.
