Rudy and Cherene’s Christmas Letter 2014 When 2014 began, I - TopicsExpress

Rudy and Cherene’s Christmas Letter 2014 When 2014 began, I had a deep feeling it was going to be “amazing”. And it was! God has been amazing as He shows us his power and amazing grace in little ways and big ways. He’s just so good to us. • My pop turned 97 and we got to celebrate his birthday with him in January. Rudy turned 65!! (Was I supposed to tell you that?) • Baby Charity was dedicated in early February. • • We had an amazing amount of snow this past winter- which gave us several snow days at home. Woohoo!! • Rudy and I enjoyed some amazing times together- with short excursions to Baltimore in the spring and New York City- Ground Zero and Washington Park in the summer! We even ended the summer with a weekend in Philly at Penns Landing. • Rebecca and I did our annual girls shore trip…but this time we found out that she had a little one inside! She is due on Christmas day!20140713_110459.jpg • My student- particularly the one special guy with downs syndrome- has grown so much in the last year- it is none less than amazing. We are so pleased with his progress and he is beginning to read. This is him and his aide who is amazing! • We enjoyed having our granddaughter Khiana visit with us for a few days in April. • It was amazing when I went with Janna to Newport RI with her business and we were both surprised when she won the top award of the year! • Rudy had a chance to visit with a long time friend and help him settle into his new surroundings in NC. • We had a few days in Williamsburg with dear friends from Cherene’s college days- Bill and Darla. Wow, was it fun and refreshing to be together! They live and serve the Lord in the Philippines. • Most devastating was the untimely (to us) death of our nephew Josh Allen- leaving his precious wife Shelley and son Josiah. We mourn his loss while knowing that he is doing far better than we are- in the presence of God Himself! Many questions… many prayers for his family. God knows. • Early in November all of Rudy’s brothers and sisters gathered in Newark while Marvin was up from Florida. It was such a great time and so special that we could all fellowship together. • • So in the best of times and the worst of times, God again and again proved himself to be faithful and loving and kind. We praise Him for another year. We have no idea what will happen, but we know Him who knows. That is so comforting. Wishing you and yours a beautiful Christmas season! Love, Rudy and Cherene
