Runaway Country, day 2...OMG, so much fun! Line up today: Jills Cashbox, Blackjack Billy, JT Hodges. After them, the party really got going! Rodney Atkins, one of my favs, Watching you, ( I printed out these lyrics for my son who is having a son in June), Cleaning this Gun (hysterical lyrics! ) and Farmers Daughter. Joe Nicholas, didnt even now I liked him,( and he is adorably cute) never put his name with his songs: Sunny and 75*, and Tequila makes her clothes Fall Off..:) Then there was Toby Keith, what a great show he put on! Whisky for my men, beer for my horses, Red solo Cup, and Good as I once was. He had the place Rocking! So if your not into country music, you can leave now,but for the rest of you, I have a cool story. Down here in the south...as the story goes...we have a yearly event, the Grant Seafood Festival. Its been going on for over 20 yrs, gets bigger every year. It was about a month ago that I went to a local bar/restaurant, The Old Fish House, in Grant, a small town a few miles south of me. There is a small island called....ready, Grant Island. About 2 dozen, or less houses there, you need a boat,to go,back and forth. One of the country singers, sorry dont remember his name, was playing at the festival. He rented a house and invited his friends, the island is right across from the bar. His friends write country music. They came, was three of,them, and they played their songs. It was such a wonderful night. One guy wrote Blake Sheltons current #1 hit ( I like,doing what she likes) they told us the back story on how and why they wrote,the songs. He wrote a song about Willie Nelson and pot smoking, so funny. Anyway, Ive had a great few weeks when it comes to country music. And Mary Ellen Luksch-Durante, and Debbie Guja, it was great,and youd love it! Presale tickets are on sale now,for next year, 99$ for three days, I have two extra bedrooms..:).
