Runway 17/35 available (subject to weather) from today. Latest communication from RCAM follows: ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Good Afternoon all, We have just taken receipt of the 17/35 and I would therefore like to share the very welcome news that the 17/35 Runway repairs and markings have now been completed. Alongside a very welcome taxyway centreline and new hold markings on the Eastern taxyway. We will open the use of 17/35 to air traffic as of today, subject to ATS making the decision on runway in use and appropriate weather and wind direction. Both runways will be available over the weekend, permitting the opportunity (subject to weather) for operators to familiarise themselves with the procedures for use. Please be reminded our NEW Pilot Briefing is available to download from the official Airfield website daedalusairfield.co.uk – please note we are on Version 20141021-1, with new circuit diagrams to reflect the Cherque Farm estate and Roundabout as depicted on the overlay for the ‘dogleg’. 05/23 will be officially closed and out of service from Sunday 26/10/2014 23:59, where it will be handed over to the contractors to start their works. ‘X’ will be placed at first light Monday Morning over the 05/23 designators. 17/35 will become the only runway in service until further notice. We have not had delivery of the new hold point signage for the 17/35 yet, therefore at the 35 end, there is painted hold bars, but no signs, please bare with us and we will get these erected asap. These will be E3 on the intermediate hold point and E4 on the Hold point closest to 35 threshold. We still have the 17-30 November 2014 closed weekdays only as the official closure dates for the Airfield. For clarity now the Argus Crash Gate is now only for Emergency vehicle response and the new RVP is in the mouth of the North East Apron and not on the 17/35. The website will be updated with this information to follow. Please call ops for any questions. Kind Regards Andy Walters RCAM General Manager Daedalus
