Ruskin. Such a delightful small town to grow up in. Kinfolk galore. Dad purchased a small tarpaper shack from Bill Weed back in 1948. Three city lots across the street from Uncle Buddy Buzbee and within 3 blocks of Uncles Charlie, Cecil and Lawrence Buzbee along with Grandparents Corbett and Annie Buzbee. Words cannot describe how safe I felt growing up there. Family gettogethers so often, Easter egg hunts, Christmas at Grandpas, campouts on the little manatee river and so many more wonderful childhood memories. 1949, first grade at Ruskin Elementary, then on to the new school East Bay in 1957, finally graduating in 1961. So many good friends and such a great family is rare today and I am so thankful to have been so blessed. Cockroach bay was our playground as was the rivers that emptied into Tampa bay. I miss those wonderful friends and family that have passed on into eternity. May God continue to wrap them all in his loving arms and keep his Angels in attendance over us until we gather again at that heavenly campsite.
