Russ, this makes perfect sense to me..! Thanks for sharing. In Ivory Coast, west Africa..I would often see youngsters and their folks whose faces were marked by certain designs..in the flesh..some designs were intricate, some less so. But as babes, the design was then rubbed with ashes as it healed poked into their little faces; the marks were obviously permanent.. What intrigue! I am glad.. at least I hope you-all didnt go through that>>> But even if some Native tribes did facial scarring for identity, I get it.. Identity is vital for life!
